Free/Reduced Lunch Applications Are Vital!
Berryhill Parents and Guardians,
Please help with this important information. We receive additional funding through the Federal Title I Program, if we have enough families to qualify. Through the Title I Program, our school receives funding that allows us to provide additional support and resources for our students. The threshold for our school to qualify for this is 40% or greater Free/Reduced Lunch status.
Even though students are receiving free meals for the remainder of the school year, please help us maintain our Schoolwide Title I Program by completing the Free/Reduced Lunch application located at the Berryhill homepage or Santa Rosa Schools homepage.
We greatly appreciate your support – thank you!

Berryhill students were challenged to meet the sales goal of $40,000 in our fall fundraiser! If they met that goal, Mrs. Chapman and Ms. McCombs said they'd kiss a goat! Do you think they reached their goal? Click HERE to find out!

School Facts
Berryhill Elementary began providing instruction for students in grades 1-6 in 1926 and holds the distinction of being the first pure elementary school in Milton. From 1926 until the fall of 1990 the school was housed in a facility located at 303 Berryhill Street (now the Berryhill Administrative Complex). During Berryhill's history, eight gentlemen have guided the education of students as the principal. The former principal, Mr. Terry L. Neustaedter, served the longest time of 33 years. Our current principal is Roger Golden who came to us in 2008 from Jay Elementary School. Land was purchased in 1988 for the present facility at 4900 Berryhill Road. Construction began in July 1989, and the opening of the new building began at the start of the 1990-91 school year.
Our school history is rich in tradition, memories, and accomplishments with many students returning as parents, grandparents, teachers, staff, and even a principal. We are excited about future opportunities for technology, academics, and other various opportunities for educational enhancement.
Our school staff includes a principal, assistant principal, instructional personnel, and educational support personnel. Other contracted personnel include a health technician, food service workers and custodians. The staff exemplifies the team concept as they work together for the betterment of our students.
We currently serve students in Pre-K through 5th grade. In addition to general educational classes, we are able to provide classes in Music, Physical Education, Speech, and Exceptional Student Education. Our curriculum includes a wide variety of educational software that is accessed through a number of innovative programs like Discovery Education, I-Ready, and Renaissance Learning - Accelerated Reading and Math.
We have been honored repeatedly over the years by the Florida Department of Education as being recognized as an “A” school for scores on State tests. The Florida Department of Education has also honored Berryhill for a high level of parent volunteer participation by awarding the Golden School Award. Another honor of significance is accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
